Pete Pete's been playing sax for nearly 20 years, but cut a little slack because there are multi-year hiatuses sprinkled in that term. What is the plural of haitus, anyway? Hiati? A (rare) Denver native, Pete wasted college years messing around with various bands on the east coast throughout DC, Baltimore, and up through Boston/Worcester (while he should have been studying). But he always knew the west was his home, and west he returned after leaving Terrapin Station and touring the country coast to coast with his dog, sleeping in his car and playing on street corners for gas money (a special thanks to the nice lady in Aspen who dropped that $100). Hey, some big names have paid their busker dues-- G Love for example. ![]() Pete has shared the stage with such medium-famed acts as Jook, Big Head Todd, and the Ryan Tracy Band. And about a million no-namers too. Pete plays a Yanagisawa pro model tenor but is seriously considering switching back to Selmer sometime in the next year or two. He works with an Otto Link 6* mouthpiece (like Coltrane's) and prefers Hemke reeds lately. His top influences are Karl Denson, Dave Sanborn / Marcus Miller, Charlie Parker, Maceo Parker & James Brown, G Love, the Beastie Boys, Jay DiBiasio, the Meters (Zig), and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Additionally, Pete will kick your ass if necessary. Click a band members name to view their profile: Ryan Chrys | The Prom King | Pete | Square Dogg |
